Oh hey! Long time, no chat. I have had the most trouble with my website recently and I am so excited to have my little pink corner of the world back up and running. To celebrate, I am finally sharing this hallway refresh that happened this time last year. Our nautical colonial hallway is alas, complete.
Before of the Hallway
Nautical Colonial Hallway Reveal
Wallpaper // Picture light // Plaid pillow fabric // art (thrifted) // stadium chairs (antique)
The jumping off point for this hallway was this wallpaper, gifted by Rifle Paper Co. This wallpaper in our downstairs hallway and it felt almost unnatural for it to not weave up here. We pulled the color Northern Glen by HGTV Home by Sherwin Williams from the laurel leaf color for pops of color on the doors and trim. We added these brass numbers to each door for a little boutique hotel touch. Selfishly, it helps us to point our frequent guest upstairs and say “you’re in room 4 this time”. Usually our siblings so no harm no foul.
The Details
Most of the items in this landing refresh are thrifted, vintage or well loved from our lived together. This barrister cabinet from our college biology department, this wax fabric a wedding gift from our hosts in Tanzania, this little art print of one of our favorite late night spots on Nantucket. This landing is packed with our life.
Whale Runner // Nautical Art (antique) // Semi-Flush Mount // Anchor Bookends (thrifted)
This space was definitely in need of some lighting. We brought in this green vintage lamp that was deliciously close in color to the wallpaper. It lets off the perfect glow at night. We also and most importantly brought in this semi-flush mount.. It comes in brass and I coated it in Rub ‘n Buff in the color, Antique Gold.
The rug in this space has lived in our previous home hallway. We saw it on a trip to the L.L. Bean campus and it was love at first sight. We purchase it and shipped it home instantly. Now they no longer sell it but you can snag it for yourself here. It’s obviously very well loved by our pup.
One glaring update is the lack of a hole in the floor near the laundry room. When we carved the laundry room out of that hall closet, we had the contractor pull up a few pieces of the floor, We used those boards to patch up the floor where the wall once was. I did okay but don’t look too closely because I am definitely not an expert at that. A win is a win though because I haven’t stepped through the floor in months.
I’ve talked about the direction this hallway in the before post and just never had the chance to share the final product. I’m so happy with how this moodboard came to life in this space.

Thanks so much for hanging in this space. And so happy to be back!
