Entryway Sneak Peek with Nostalgic Warehouse’s Hardware

This post was created in partnership with Nostalgic Warehouse. However all opinions within are 100% my own. Thank you for supporting the brands that support Prepford Wife.

I’m excited to be sharing some of our entryway makeover on the blog with Nostalgic Warehouse. We are huge fans of the brand! After living in our old home for a year, we systematically begin replacing all of all our hardware with Nostalgic warehouse; entryway, room doorknobs, kitchen cabinetry, all of it. So by the time we moved here, we’d replace every single piece of hardware with theirs. Over time, we’ve found Nostalgic Warehouse hardware to be so classic and timeless -which is almost always how I describe my style. And more important than just fitting our aesthetic, I’ve found their pieces to be amazing quality.

Why Nostalgic Warehouse Hardware?

I’m not even sure where I saw it now but some years ago, Marcus and I saw a quote from an architect that said something along the lines of ‘if you’re going to opt for higher quality in your home, do so on the high touch surfaces, the ones that you use and wear down over time’. We’ve taken that thought to heart because it just made so much sense for the way we live. Counter tops, sheets, door knobs, those kinds of things are the ones that we look to get quality items for.

Nostalgic Warehouse prides themselves on the craftsmanship of their vintage style knobs. They use only hot-forged brass which is what allows them to create such intricate designs. And while my personal taste airs on the side of simple and classic, I still want them to be made well. Oh and cute. Did I mention cute?

Nostalgic Warehouse Hardware in Our Past Home

Example A: Nostalgic Warehouse Studio Plates with the Homestead Knobs in our old bedroom. *Weeps very nostalgic tears for one of my favorite spaces that we’ve lived in*. They made such a difference to the design and tied in beautifully with our other brass fixtures.

And don’t get me started on the New York Long plate with the homestead knobs in our other favorite space. Roll footage of your -and my- favorite bathroom in our last home.

I can not get enough of the hardware and how it ties together so nicely with the other fixtures. Those are the kind of details that I always find myself trying to pull together neatly at the end of a project and Nostalgic Warehouse makes it so easy to get it right with the many different brass finishes they carry. So when we purchased this home, it was absolutely a no-brainer that we’d incorporate Nostalgic Warehouse into our current design. And obviously I didn’t stray very far from my tried and true favorite.

Nostalgic Warehouse Hardware in Our Current Home

For our entry set, I fell in love with this New York set C grip that we had in our old home. (I’m not one for reinventing the wheel. I like what I like). But this style was sold out at the time of our order. Thankfully this set which features a knob and a deadbolt as a combo pack was available and fit the space perfectly. This set looks very similar to the sets in our old bedroom with the exception of the plate size. That’s because Nostalgic Warehouse has an option to design your own hardware where you can mix and match plates and knobs on their site.

I fell so in love with the classic style of the New York Plate with the New York knob, that I carried it inside as well for both the closet doors and the doors that connect our entryway to the next space.

It created such a cohesive feel and created a call back to the brass fixtures in our other spaces like our dining room. One thing I really wanted to make sure of when choosing fixtures was that I chose the correct type for each door.

Functions for Door Knobs

There are four basic functions or types of door knobs that you’ll encounter in any given room and you want to make sure when ordering that you’re choosing the right one for your needs.

All in all, we are incredibly happy with our Nostalgic Warehouse purchases, past and present and can’t wait to share more of these completed spaces with you. Thanks so much to Nostalgic Warehouse for joining us and to you for reading!
