Weekend Getaway to Beach Club at Charleston Harbor Resort & Marina

A Weekend with Beach Club at Charleston Harbor & Marina

We love Charleston and pop down regularly for weekend trips. From planned girls trips to spontaneous weekend adventures, Charleston is totally our jam. And we almost always stay at Beach Club at Charleston Harbor Resort. It’s one of our absolute favorite places to stay. (You can see previous trips all over our instagrams here, here, here, here, here. You get the idea.)

Location

The Beach Club is located in Mount Pleasant on Patriots Point. Mount Pleasant is the quieter neighbor to Charleston and we don’t mind the quick 15 minute trip over the bridge into downtown. If you fly into Charleston International and decide not to drive, it’s easily an inexpensive Lyft to downtown. (I would know. You can see the Charleston bachelorette I hosted where I talked about this.)

The resort is also located right on the marina. This gives you the option of taking the water taxi which docks at the marina into downtown. It runs most of the day for only $8 a ticket and a round trip is about an hour total. You can use the time to spot dolphins!

COVID-19 Precautions

Not a subject I would ordinarily include in my thoughts about a hotel but this is what I would want to know if I were making plans to adventure during a pandemic.

We had hesitations taking a trip during COVID-19 but we’ve been on lockdown since March 13th with a few notable exceptions (yep, still know the exact last day we left the house for our usual routine) and did not have to take transportation that put us in contact with others so traveling to the resort was pretty low risk. However, we wanted to be sure that The Beach Club was taking all of the necessary precautions to insure our safety -and the safety of fellow hotel goers- once we were there. Here’s the skinny:

The Good

The Not So Good

The photo above is from a previous stay but I wanted you to see how gorgeous the beds are when fully outfitted.

The Resort

What keeps us coming back is the absolute beauty of this resort. It’s elegant, breezy and nautical which are probably the three words I’d use to describe myself if you asked lol. The lobby is instantly jaw dropping and at the same time comfortable enough that I never feel bad coming downstairs casually dressed (read: in a hotel robe) early in the morning to snag coffee and then dive back into bed.

Speaking of bed, wow! So comfy. I always forget how comfortable they are until I am waking up well after we initially planned. Since we didn’t have any intentions to go out during peak hours and it rained for much of the weekend, I didn’t feel bad at all sleeping in. And when we did wake, it was to one heck of a view.

Amenities

Why bother with a resort if you aren’t going to check out the amenities? The pool is truly the wow factor. With multiple pools and outdoor games in the general vicinity it’s an excellent place for families and couples alike. The marina also has a private and slightly hidden beach. Don’t forget to hunt it down if you go!

The resort also has many of the other amenities you come to expect on site including:

One thing worth mentioning that is not an amenity per se is the staff. They are incredible. Always so nice and welcoming and kind. It’s truly southern hospitality at its finest.

Be sure to check out their website Beach Club at Charleston Harbor Resort. Oh by the way, the property has two sites on the one property; The Beach Club (where we stayed) and Harborside. We’ve stayed at Harborside before and love it as well!
