Since before I ever knew I wanted to get married, I knew I loved all things wedding; a weddingophile. I knew from a young age that I wanted to be a doctor and if that fell through, I wanted to be a cake boss. The work and the care and the love that goes into sculpting the intricate and fine tuned detail of each and every wedding cake, may be my calling if I suck at cutting open brains.
Besides the love of cake, I loved the glitz, the glamour and the ritual of wedding. It’s something sacred that we passed on, each generation putting their own little spin and flair on something that is as old as time and love itself. I loved the dresses, the affair and the lights. The shoes, the friends and the rings.
But I knew that wasn’t for me. But what to my wandering eyes should appear…An engagement ring!
On May 7, 2011, my honey asked me to be his wife. If he was foolish enough to ask, why should I be smart enough to stop him?
Since the day we first got together, I knew that I wanted nothing more than to be his wife. He adds to me in a way that I never thought that someone else could and I don’t mean in the hype way like other people do. Sure he is the yin to my yang, the milk to my cereal, the Coach case to my MyTouch phone but it’s so much more than that. Ya know? At the same time, he is fulfillment of all that I want in a life partner. He is my very best friend and the man that God has placed in my life to be an example of a covenant husband.
But enough of that stuff. We are (eventually) getting married and here is what I want my/our (hehe) wedding to look like. I have a thing for peacocks :
